Renault has announced pricing and CO2 emissions for its new TCe petrol engine that will first launch in the Scénic and Grand Scénic

The direct injection turbocharged unit will be progressively offered in other Renault models from 2018.

Renault says the new engine offers a significant improvement in driving pleasure, with increased torque at low revs and greater and constant availability at high revs, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

It has a 1.3-litre capacity and outputs of 115PS and 140PS. Manual and EDC dual-clutch automatic transmissions are available.

The TCe 115 emits 122g/km of CO2 and achieves a combined 52.3mpg in the Scénic, while 0-60MPH takes 11.3 seconds.

Despite being more powerful the TCe 140 returns the same emissions and economy figures, with a faster acceleration time of 10.1 seconds.

In the Grand Scénic CO2 is slightly higher at 125g/km with combined fuel consumption of 50.4 mpg.

These figures result in a reduction in CO2 by 7-grams on Scénic and 11-grams on Grand Scénic compared to the previous petrol units.

Order books open on January 1, with first deliveries due in February 2018.

Last updated: 12/03/2020 Customer advice regarding the Coronavirus At this time when the news is dominated by Coronavirus, we wanted to let you know that we are vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to ensure your safety, as well as flexibility of your rental bookings. The safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance to us and we are closely monitoring the news, information, advice and guidance from the World Health Organisation and local authorities regarding the spread of the Coronavirus. Our focus is to ensure we meet customer needs while doing our part to keep you and our employees safe. What should I do if I have already made a booking, but it’s impacted by the Coronavirus?    If you have already made a booking, but it is impacted by a quarantine measure or other travel restrictions due to the Coronavirus, this booking can be cancelled as outlined below: Cancellation fees for any Pay Later customers impacted by Coronavirus-related travel bans, will be waivered Cancellation fees for any Pre-Pay rental customers impacted by Coronavirus-related travel bans, will be waivered For any customers who have booked through a third-party broker or website, please contact them directly for further guidance should your travel be disrupted. What about bookings not directly impacted by Coronavirus restrictions? For increased flexibility on all bookings, you can change or cancel, without fees, any reservations in Europe for rentals due to start before 1st May. For bookings which start after this time, there will not be any penalties for changes made up to 72 hours before the start of your rental. To make any changes, please contact our reservations team or call 01752-227460. Is Simple taking any additional precautions to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus? We are closely monitoring the information shared by the World Health Organization concerning advice on how to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Since I wrote to you last Friday morning, government advice on the precautions we should take around COVID-19 has developed, and our priority remains the health and wellbeing of our friends across the network and all our colleagues and teammates.   I mentioned in my note that we had contingencies in place for our operations to work remotely and we have today put these into action.
