Torbay Airshow will return for a third year in 2018, following record breaking crowds earlier this summer. The free family event which is run by Torbay Council is set to return on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 June 2018. Council Leaders have now also committed to running the event for a minimum of five years, following the success of 2017. Parking surcharge for diesel vehicles to be introduced in London

Release Date:  20/11/2017 London’s Islington Council claims it will be the first local authority to introduce a borough-wide surcharge for diesel vehicles using short stay parking. The £2 surcharge will be introduced early in 2018 and comes in addition to the existing diesel surcharge for resident parking permits, which has existed since 2015. As an inner-city borough containing several major transport routes, Islington suffers from some of the highest pollution levels in London. BVRLA welcomes Government decision to change O-licence regulation

Release Date:  18/12/2017 Fleets will be able to run alternatively-fuelled vans up to 4.25 tonnes GVW without needing an operator licence, following a Department for Transport (DfT) consultation. Currently organisations can run vans up to 3.5 tonnes GVW without needing an O-licence. More than 90% of respondents, including the BVRLA, backed the change to 4.25 tonnes GVW, and the Government last week (14 December) announced this exemption will become law. Renault has announced pricing and CO2 emissions for its new TCe petrol engine that will first launch in the Scénic and Grand Scénic The direct injection turbocharged unit will be progressively offered in other Renault models from 2018. Renault says the new engine offers a significant improvement in driving pleasure, with increased torque at low revs and greater and constant availability at high revs, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It has a 1.3-litre capacity and outputs of 115PS and 140PS. Manual and EDC dual-clutch automatic transmissions are available.
